Stock Installation Procedure

Interested in having us install one of our stocks on your barreled action? Here’s what to do and how it works.

Other questions? Check out our FAQ page.

  • 1. First, a few decisions:
    • Which stock would you like to use.
    • What barreled action components (action, barrel, and bottom metal) and configuration you’d like to use.
    • Which installation package would you like?
  • 2. Fill out our Installation Quote Request form.
    • We’ll let you know if we’re able to to perform the install with your requested combination of parts and our stock. The Signature package is more open-ended as far as actions we’re able to accommodate. We do our best to offer as many action/stock combos as possible but unfortunately we can’t do ’em all!
    • If it’s in our wheelhouse we’ll email you a quote detailing the work to be performed and a link to pay the standard $150 deposit.
    • Please review the quote and let us know if you have any questions or changes.
    • Once you’re satisfied with the quote use the provided link to pay the deposit and we’ll send over the official work order.
  • 3. Pack your barreled action along with any other components discussed in the quote.
    • Please thoroughly and carefully pack your components for shipment.
    • Remove bolt and bottom metal assembly from action. We’ve had too many cases and boxes arrive with a bolt knob punched through the side.
    • Remove and keep any unnecessary components such as existing stock or a scope unless otherwise discussed in the quote.
    • Wrap individual parts with bubble wrap or packing paper. Please do not involve clothing, especially socks (clean or otherwise), in your packaging efforts. (you know we had to add this for a reason…)
    • When wrapping your barreled action please pay extra attention to the muzzle and rear tang of the action. Like bolt handles, these often get curious while traveling and pop out of their packaging to have a look around.
    • Pack individually wrapped parts in a quality, padded hard case inside a sturdy cardboard box ideally. No case? Use a cardboard box (or better yet two) that accommodates the parts without a lot of wiggle room. Factory rifle boxes are usually sturdy enough. Be sure to fill any dead space with bubble wrap or packing paper (again, no socks.)
  • 4. Shipment
    • If you’ve already completed paperwork (form 4473) for the rifle, there’s no need to send it from an FFL. You can personally send it directly to us and we’ll send it directly back to you when the work is complete. If you’d prefer to send and receive it through an FFL that’s fine too.
    • UPS, USPS and FedEx will all ship rifles and rifle parts.
    • In rare cases they (the shipping companies) require a call tag from us. If that’s the case, let us know and we’ll get one over to you right away.
  • 5. Installation, Invoicing, & Return Shipment
    • Once we receive your rifle parts we’ll update your work order with any relevant details like serial numbers and email you your updated work order.
    • Please address any remaining “TBD’s” (details yet to be determined) and decide on one of the return shipping methods below.
      • Disassembled, shipped in our premium double carton (or, if robust, original box) : $45
      • Assembled, shipped in customer supplied QUALITY hard case: $75
      • Assembled, shipped in Boyt Harness H52SG Hard Case: $200
    • Now that we have everything we need we’ll get you on the schedule.
    • We’ll complete the work, prepare it for shipping, and invoice you for the remaining balance.
    • Once your payment has been processed you’ll receive tracking information and updates.
  • 6. Delivery
    • Enjoy your rifle and its new lease on life! Happy shooting!
    • Let us know what you think.
    • Tell your friends and family!
